Grade 6 – Ecotourism Project

All the Grade 6 English classes are doing a major project based around using technology to market an Ecotourism business. They have been researching the topic over the last week or so to choose a location and define what exactly will make up their business. Now they are starting to decide on and create their marketing materials using the MacBooks.

They have all been given the choice of whether to create a double-sided brochure using Apple’s Pages document creation software, a presentation in PowerPoint or a website using iWeb. They have used all this software before in ICT lessons so the focus here is on using templates for the majority of the design allowing the students to concentrate on their English text, sentence structure and how to write effective copy.

Grade 7 – French Boutique Websites

In grade 7 French the students have been designing and creating clothing store websites using iWeb. They spent several lessons writing their French text descriptions for all the clothing objects, as well as introduction text, in their notebooks. They then used the iMac lab on the 6th floor and Apple’s iWeb web design software to create their website designs, type out their text and insert pictures and graphics.

G4 SB: Using graphs to display data visually

Grade 4SB created bar graphs using the given data on the daily information. They learnt how to choose the graphs for the particular data, assessing their advantages as it allows them to compare the criteria visually & arrive at easy interpretations. In the process they created the axes, labeled them, decided on the intervals and scale to be used.

G2 TW: Using Doceri to create a flowchart of services

Grade 2 TW students used Doceri iPad app to record and doddle their understanding on flow chart of services where they integrated technology in their current UOI – Market places. Students really enjoyed the session.

SKG: Integrating technology using ‘Drawing’ app on iPad

Senior KG students integrated technology in their UOI ‘Signs and Symbols’ by  creating signs and symbols in ‘Drawing’ app on iPad.

Grade 8 – French Cooking Blog

In Ms. Priya’s grade 8 French class we created a cooking blog using Tumblr. For the first two lessons the students were split into groups of three and had to develop a French recipe. Each was then typed out and written in French as a blog post with photos. For the second lesson the students brought in the ingredients they needed and filmed a cooking-style TV show demoing how to create their recipe. Again all in French.

G1 MB : Use of Doceri iPad app

In real time Leia is showing how to add to 10 using a number line.

In this movie Jay Hyun is explaining how he can add two big numbers by grouping in tens and ones. By drawing the base 10 cubes he is showing his understanding of carry over in addition.

Sambhavi is showing her critical thinking skills while working on her addition concept.

G2 RY : Quiz on noun on softschool.com

The students have learned about nouns in the class and they were practicing their grammar skills by doing a quiz on common, proper, collective and plural nouns on the site http://www.softschools.com. Students really enjoyed the session.

E-drawing in Art class

In collaboration with grade 3 unit on “Exploration”, the students are exploring the concept of self portraits in visual arts. Through the integration with the IT today, the students got an opportunity to explore not just the various tools and applications on iPads but they also created portraits using kleki.com.The students enjoyed the activity thoroughly and some students also worked in different layers.
